Biomass based energy in Armenia

Biomass is a versatile energy source. Organic matter that is used as a source of biomass energy includes trees, timber waste, wood chips, corn, rice hulls, peanut shells, sugar cane, grass cuttings, leaves, manure, sewage, and municipal solid waste. Although, biomass energy sources in the country are limited, the gathering of methane from municipal solid waste disposal sites and large farms could contribute to the renewable energy development in Armenia.
